⁣Check out a real working organic farm in the hills outside Subachoque in the Cundinamarca department of Colombia, an hour away from the capital city of Bogotá! I'll show you what fincas are like here in the Colombian countryside, take you on a tour of the house, the garden, and the HUGE property that Lina's family keeps out here. I'll even show you how to chop firewood with a machete, the tool of choice in these parts. Check out the expat life blog:

Most agriculture in Colombia still comes from small family farms and smallholdings like this one, big factory industrial farming doesn't really exist here, so all the food is
organic, sustainable, fresh, cheap and available everywhere! All your dairy,
milk, cheese, meat, fruits and vegetables are coming straight from the farmer
to your plate. On the finca here they produce organic potatoes, rent out grass
for cattle grazing, and grow exotic fruits like curuba and mora (Andean
blackberry). Up here at 3000 metres the air gets a bit thin, the wind strong
and the temperature cold, so plants, animals and people have to be extremely
hardy and strong to survive! I've got a brand new greenhouse so looking forward
to experimenting with the kinds of plants and vegetables we can grow in there.
We'll go on a walk through the monte on the back property and I'll show you how
thick and wild trees and bushes and everything grows out here. We'll look for
some firewood and I'll show you how to cut it up with a machete, axe, and
electric chainsaw! The best part about expat living and working out here is the
views, you can see all across the vast plateau of the "Sabana de
Bogotá" out here, it's truly awe inspiring. Make sure to check out

people as we can with our great travel documentaries and videos about living
