⁣Base metal space with a focus on zinc mineral assets Osisko Metals Incorporated (TSX.V: OM, OTCQX: OMZNF) is an exploration and development company creating value in the base metal space with a focus on zinc mineral assets. In fact, they control Canada’s two premier zinc mining camps. One of the company’s key properties is the Pine Point Mining Camp in the Northwest Territories. Secondly, there is the Bathurst Mining Camp (“BMC”), located in northern New Brunswick. "I'm bullish on base metals, I'm bullish on zinc. I keep investing myself in this project. And I think we're going to produce something that is outstanding in the years to come," says Chairman and CEO, Robert Wares. The Pine Point Mining Camp The Pine Point Project has a high potential for mineral resource expansion. There are 11 deposits within the 2020 MRE having unconfined high-grade drill intercepts indicating mineralization may extend into open areas of sparse drilling immediately adjacent to reported Mineral Resources. "What I really like about Pine Point is historically,
it produced one of the best zinc concentrates in the world," says Wares.
Pine Point's current PEA has indicated an after tax NPV of $500M and IRR of
29.6%. Further, the proposed mine, if it entered into production, would be the
4th largest in the Americas. It would also be the 9th in the world producing
clean, high-grade zinc and lead concentrates. With the world moving towards
sustainable development, the electrification of the transportation industry and
away from carbon economy, we'll need tons of base metals. For example, copper
for electrical, nickel for stainless steel and lithium-ion batteries and zinc.
"There are only a handful of zinc development companies out there, and I
think we're in the top two to three zinc development companies in the
Americas," says Wares. The fact that clean zinc concentrate is in high
demand, means that Pine Point zinc can be sold at a premium price. "If we
could get to the 60 / 70 million ton range, which is entirely possible, I'll be
very happy. It's going to be a world-class asset," Wares says. An updated
Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Pine Point project is expected in early
2022.
