SDG Agrifood Accelerator Programme: Gorilla Conservation Coffee

⁣The FAO SDG Agrifood Accelerator Programme supported innovative startups working to transform agrifood systems in ways that protect the environment and improve the lives of marginalized community members. The Programme offered tailored mentoring, tools to measure and amplify impact and small grants, to help enterprises scale their solutions and enhance their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals. One such example is Gorilla Conservation Coffee in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where poverty and unsustainable farming practices have threatened local wildlife. The enterprise prioritizes the prosperity of smallholder coffee farmers while contributing to conservation efforts in the biodiversity-rich region.
